Dear Family and Friends,

Dear family and friends,

Thank you for following us on our journey to Costa Rica. I will update this blog daily with pictures and videos as we travel through Costa Rica's cloud forests, along its spectacular beaches, on our excursion to the breathtaking Fortuna waterfall, and throughout our homestay experience in the quiet, rural town of Nicoya, the cultural center on the Nicoyan Peninsula.

We are excited to create memories that will last a life time.

Palo Verde National Park

We took a river boat trip through the jungle of Palo Verde.  Wildlife in the park includes howler and white face monkeys, coatimundi, giant iguanas, crocodiles and lots of birds, both local and migratory, among many others.  June isn't the optimal time to spot wildlife only because it is winter in Costa Rica and many birds have already left the area.  However, we were still be able to see a family of howler monkeys, baby crocodiles, many different bird species, iguanas, and sleeping bats.
